Yahoo Gemini and the new ads for Mobile Device

Every day millions of people visit Yahoo to read the news, search for information, and check the weather, mail, sports scores or stock quotes from their smartphones and tablets. In fact more than half of our global monthly active users come to Yahoo on a mobile device and we are committed to delivering outstanding advertising that is designed specifically for mobile and integrated across our new experiences.

And Yahoo is trying to win back some of its slice of advertising money and has launched a new type of image-rich native ads for mobile devices.

The announcement reads “We’re excited to transform the advertising experience across Yahoo by rolling out new, image-rich native ads designed to be mobile-first seamlessly integrated with the content and targeted to the right consumer to drive even better results. The new ads are available through Yahoo Gemini. ” .

The new ads will be marked as sponsored and will provide personalized content streams to users complete with article pages and image galleries across Yahoo’s products.

Ned Brody, Head of Americas says “When people tap on the ads they can visit the brand’s site directly or view a full-screen visual for even greater interactivity and impact. Top advertisers including Netflix are already using these new ad formats.” .

Samsung Galaxy S5 managed to top 10 million units in shipments in the first 25 days

Galaxy S5 the latest flagship Android based handset from South Korean mobile phone maker reportedly managed to top 10 million units in shipments in the first 25 days of availability.

The info comes from South Korea’s Hankyung and refers to the number of devices that were shipped to channels.

The figure also shows that the new flagship model appears to be already performing better than previous handsets in the Galaxy S series.

In comparison Galaxy S4 took about 27 days to reach the milestone while Galaxy S III took 50 days. Galaxy S II about 5 months and Galaxy S around 7 months.

Samsung currently sells Galaxy S5 in two variants one with Snapdragon processor and another one powered by Exynos octa-core processor in over 125 countries.

While the number might not be showing the amount of Galaxy S5 units that landed in users hands it is still impressive and also confirms that the new model is moving towards becoming the best selling phone in the series.

The materials show this one headed for Sprint as rumored, but also show quad-band GSM support so we expect to see something similar on other networks Of course all the TouchWiz and Ice Cream Sandwich features are on board like Media Hub and Android Beam. It's safe to say that a scant six months ago these specs would have been at the top of the Android heap so the Victory should be a great little performer.

No word on the phone’s exact release date yet but it shouldn’t take too long until Sprint goes official with this one so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

Nokia Announced The Release Of Nokia Lumia 710 Powered By Microsoft's Windows Phone Mango OS

Last week Nokia announced the release of two handsets powered by Microsoft's Windows Phone Mango operating system and one of them the Nokia Lumia 710 has already received the necessary approvals from the FCC.

The mobile phone that got through the certification process at the FCC comes with T-Mobile 3G/4G 1700Mhz bands which might suggest that the wireless carrier could add it to its offering in the not-too-distant future.

However, there is no guarantee that this will actually happen especially since no official announcement on the matter was made until now. Even so, the Nokia Lumia 710 is expected to become available for purchase in the United States and was already placed on Nokia USA' website.

The mobile phone packs a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA 800×480 pixel resolution and hides a 1.4GHz Single Core MSM8255 application processor beneath it.

Moreover, the new device features 512MB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage without offering the possibility to expand the available memory via a microSD memory card slot.

At the same time the new device packs WiFi and 3G connectivity capabilities along with GPS receiver with support for Nokia Maps and a 1300mAh battery.

The mobile phone also comes with support for the various services that Microsoft put in place for its Windows Phone devices as well as with special services from Nokia. Not to mention that it will offer users the possibility to download and install applications and games from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

All in all the Nokia Lumia 710 smartphone seems like a great option for users interested in the purchase of a Windows Phone at an affordable price.
