One of the few companies that successfully innovates and launches new technologies LG Electronics has just announced a new remote customer care services which is meant to help LG Optimus smartphone users receive support while on the move.

The new innovative service includes a pre-loaded Remote Call application and the LG FOTA (Firmware Over-the-Air) system which will be made available globally following the initial roll-out in Korea.

This marks another LG world's first after the company announced earlier this year the first dual-core smartphone available on the market the LG Optimus 2X.
Basically the new Remote Call app offers remote maintenance services as a way to diagnose software problems and to distribute software upgrades direct to customer’s phones.

The service is fully compatible with 3G or Wi-Fi network so customers won't need to visit an LG Customer Information Center (CIC) if a problem arises with their smartphones. As soon as the user registers with the application LG representatives will be able to wirelessly access the owner’s Optimus smartphone but not the user's personal information such as emails messages, calendars or pictures.

“Convenience is what LG is about and remote call services fit our brand character perfectly. LG is leading the way in virtual services and follow-up care for our customers everywhere. Being there for customers from A to Z is a key priority for us” said Dr. Jong-seok Park president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

The company's Remote Call services will be available on high-end Optimus smartphones initially including the LG Optimus 2X the LG Optimus Black and the LG Optimus 3D.

In addition LG announced its FOTA system and pre-loaded FOTA application which will help users receive regular alerts on the most current updates.

According to LG the Remote Call services will be made available to customers in Europe, Asia Pacific region and South and Central America in the second half of the year.
