HTC Sensation owners will be happy to know that their phones can now perform much faster with the new Android Revolution HD ROM.

Although the new ROM is unofficial it enables full dual-core support for the HTC Sensation which greatly improves the smartphone's speed.

Thanks to XDA member mike1986 HTC Sensation users can now take full advantage of the phone's 1.2GHz processor which translates in more smoothness and performance especially when multi-tasking.

According to the developer the Android Revolution HD ROM for HTC Sensation is based on a stock version of Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread HTC RUU 1.45.401.2 with HTC Sense 3.0.

It appears that the stock version has been improved but no visual changes have been added whatsoever.

Android Revolution HD includes a new 2.6.35.14 kernel which has been under-volted and tweaked.

Furthermore the phone's dual-core processor is now automatically overclocked via O/C Daemon application up to 1.83 GHz instead the standard 1.29 GHz that comes by default.

The processor's speed can also be controlled manually by using a third-party application called Set CPU.

However it is recommended to use the built-in O/C Daemon which gives better performance and battery life than the Set CPU app.

Those who want total control over the CPU speed and decide to install Set CPU should check “Set on Boot” option.

In addition the developer made some configuration improvements to the integrated Adreno 200 graphics processing unit (GPU) for better quality and performance.

Other highlights of the new ROM for HTC Sensation include:

- HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile USA) support for Wi-Fi calling and Visual Voice Mail.
- Arabic and Hebrew languages full support.
- Improved EXT4 performance by changing mounting method.
- Enabled GPU UI rendering.
- Excellent battery life.

As the developer suggests it is recommended to use Android Revolution HD only with stock kernel.
