Adobe Systems has launched its Digital Publishing Suite - Professional Edition for Apple iPad users, as well as for publishers employing other tablet PCs.

Adobe describes Digital Publishing Suite as a turnkey solution that includes hosted services and viewer technology for cost-efficient content publishing.

It is aimed not only at publishing houses, but also business publishers, and education institutions that require an off-the-shelf tablet publishing solution, Adobe said today.

Now available for the iPad, the Professional Edition of the suite taps the huge interest in digital publishing across retail, banking, financial services, healthcare and education, say the folks behind the Flash format.

As part of their digital publishing and mobile marketing strategies, companies can now employ the Professional Edition of Adobe Digital Publishing Suite and publish a new genre of engaging publications on tablets.

“The Professional Edition of Digital Publishing Suite meets the needs of a wide range of publishers looking to capitalize on the large number of readers and consumers embracing tablets and who need an immediate tablet publishing solution,” said David Wadhwani, senior vice president, Creative and Interactive Solutions, Adobe.

“While the entertainment aspect of tablet devices is incredibly high, we also know that tablets will have a profound impact on the enterprise,” Wadhwani continued.

“We are starting to see innovative work from companies like Mercedes-Benz to Credit Suisse, who have used our digital publishing tools to create fantastic brand experiences on tablet devices that address real business needs around customer engagement,” he concluded.

Tightly integrated with Adobe InDesign CS5.5 and Adobe Creative Suite 5.5, the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite enables industry-standard page layout capabilities.

Companies and creatives can achieve highly designed, engaging digital content with a high degree of interactivity, Adobe said.
